As Grants Manager, Emily (she/her) manages Her Justice’s institutional fundraising portfolio, which includes private foundations, government grant applications, and corporate funders. She also oversees the full lifecycle of grants management, from researching and identifying potential funders to writing compelling proposals and reports, tracking deadlines, supporting cross-departmental collaboration to meet deliverables, and managing warm relationships with foundation staff.
Through this work, Emily plays a critical role in sustaining and expanding the resources that enable Her Justice to provide free legal services to Her Justice clients. She enjoys seeking out and connecting with mission-driven funders who value the critical role that Her Justice plays in reducing the gender, racial and economic inequities embedded in our justice system. Prior to joining Her Justice, Emily developed an interest in non-profit work at the Work First Foundation, where she sharpened her expertise in research and data collection.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Colgate University.
