Manager, Intake

As the Intake Coordinator at Her Justice, Kiara (she/her) serves as the first point of contact for clients, leading the initial assessment process and guiding individuals through intake with clarity and care. She evaluates client needs, determines eligibility for services, and assigns cases to appropriate staff for further assessment, while collaborating across teams and supporting outreach and organization initiatives that strengthen service delivery. Her efforts remove barriers to access and create a welcoming, efficient intake experience. By ensuring that clients feel supported, informed, and heard from the first interaction, Kiara lays the groundwork for positive outcomes and long-term trust in Her Justice’s services.

Prior to forming part of the Her Justice team, she developed strong leadership and client advocacy skills as a food pantry supervisor at a nonprofit, a paralegal and intake coordinator at a private law firm, and a Child Protective Specialist with both NYC Administration for Children’s Services and the Westchester County Department of Social Services. She also served as a case worker at another nonprofit, where she specialized in managing complex cases and supporting diverse communities.

Kiara earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
